Addiction Medicine Fellowship at UPMC in Central Pa.

The UPMC Medical Education Harrisburg Addiction Medicine Fellowship is a 12 month ACGME program in Harrisburg, Pa. The program is committed to providing its fellows with an enriching academic and clinical learning experience with the ultimate goal of developing physicians who lead in providing care to patients with substance use disorders. The fellow will learn to work as an effective member of a healthcare team, in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Faculty members will teach the fellow how to service both the immediate and unique needs of the diverse community. Following successful completion, the fellow may sit for ABMS-level certification.

Program Requirements

  • Completion of an ACGME Accredited residency program.
  • Training without the need of Visa sponsorship.
  • Eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure.
  • Eligibility for Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) licensure.
  • ACLS/BLS certified.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in a primary medical specialty that is recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).

Application Information

  • We accept one position a year for a 12 month fellowship with applications opening every July through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service).
  • UPMC ME Harrisburg participates in the Medicine and Pediatric Specialties MATCH through NRMP (National Resident Matching Program). Learn more about the matching process.
