PITTSBURGH – UPMC employees are now eligible to receive up to two weeks of paid parental leave in the event of birth, adoption or foster care placement. This new benefit, providing parents with time to heal and bond with their new family member, has long-lasting health and wellness benefits to both children and parents. The leave can be used within 12 weeks of introducing the newest member to their family.
While paid parental leaves are rare in health care due to the challenges associated with 24/7 staffing, caring for patients and employees is at the core of what UPMC does and the benefit is aimed at helping employees achieve their personal and professional goals.
