Planned Gifts

A planned gift is a charitable donation that is arranged with forethought and executed over a period of time.

Planned giving can be an important element of your financial management or estate planning. Planned gifts can be made in several ways, each of which may provide significant tax and income benefits to the donor and his or her family.

For more information about making a gift through appreciated securities, personal property and real estate, or bequests and planned gifts, please contact Cynthia Caldwell at caldwell3@upmc.edu or 412-647-0515.

Honorary or Memorial Gifts

A gift made in honor or memory of an individual is a thoughtful way to recognize the accomplishments of or remember a loved one, friend, or colleague. Our online gift form conveniently allows you to indicate who your gift will honor or memorialize.

Gift Matching

Many corporations will match an employee’s personal donations. This additional support can double or even triple the value of your gift. Contact the Human Resources department at your workplace to get more information on the options they offer.

Tax Deductions

You will receive a written acknowledgement and receipt for all gifts. Contributions are tax deductible as provided by law.

UPMC Celebrity Classic

On May 12-13, 2022, golfers and celebrities attended the 44th annual UPMC Celebrity Classic and gala. The event, co-hosted by former Pittsburgh Steeler Ryan Shazier and Gwedolyn Sowa, MD, PhD, benefited the UPMC Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Ryan Shazier Fund for Spinal Rehabilitation. Both beneficiaries work to provide rehabilitative care for patients suffering from life-altering spinal cord and related injuries.
