Promote Health Equity
The UPMC Center for Engagement and Inclusion's community engagement plan and Community Health Partnership Council address major public health disparities. Our goal is to have a deep impact on these issues.
As a starting point, our focus is on two areas: health and youth.
Workforce Development
The Partnership on Workforce Readiness and Retention (POWRR) and Community All Access Day programs develop the skills and behaviors to build successful careers, while providing an understanding of, and access to, employment opportunities at UPMC.
POWRR is a customizable and flexible training program that aims to equip participants with the skills needed to take the next steps in their career journeys.
Tailored to meet the needs and interests of the people you serve; a Community All Access Day allows participants to learn about the careers at UPMC that matter most to them.
Employee Volunteerism
UPMC knows the lasting impact we can make by serving our communities.
The UPMC Center for Engagement and Inclusion offers monthly "Lend A Hand" programs to inspire staff across the system to donate items, volunteer time, or attend events. These programs allow staff to reap the rewards of giving back to the places in which we all live and work.
UPMC also partners with local non-profits to host UPMC Community Service Projects to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Throughout the course of a year, employees have the chance to take part in one of these large-scale projects.
