Visiting Patients at UPMC McKeesport
This acute-care community hospital serves McKeesport and its surrounding area with a services ranging from cancer and cardiac care to orthopaedic and diabetes treatment programs.
Accommodations
Family House, established in 1983, is a non-profit licensed organization that provides a special ‘home away from home’ for patients and their families who must travel to Pittsburgh for treatment of serious or life-threatening illnesses. By providing a supportive, home-like environment, Family House strives to make a difference in the quality of the families’ lives while they are in Pittsburgh. Located in the Oakland and Shadyside sections of Pittsburgh, Family House operates four free-standing houses (Family House Shadyside, Family House McKee, Family House Neville and Family House University Place) with a total of 160 guest rooms. Visiting Hours
With the exception of the cardiovascular and intensive care units, family members and friends may visit patients from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Visitation for the cardiovascular and intensive care units is from 1 to 1:30 p.m. and 7 to 7:30 p.m.
Gift Shop
Located on the first floor of the Prescott Building, the hospital gift shop offers for sale candy, snacks, cards, small gifts, and novelty items. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
Parking
While the hospital garage undergoes renovation, free valet parking is offered until 5 p.m. weekdays. After 5 p.m. and on weekends visitors to UPMC McKeesport may park in the Painter Lot.
