Psychiatric Emergency Services

The Diagnostic Evaluation Center (DEC) provides emergency and crisis intervention services to people of all ages 24 hours a day, including:

  • Psychiatric emergency and substance abuse evaluations
  • Walk-in crisis therapy
  • Referral to outpatient providers
  • Facilitation of inpatient admissions

Patients visit the DEC with or without a referral from other medical professionals.

Each patient meets a team of psychiatric experts, including a nurse, clinician, and doctor. The team then works with the individual and family to determine the best options for treatment.
