Primary Care at UPMC St. Margaret

It’s one thing to know where to find a doctor. It’s another to have a doctor who knows you and your family — an experienced doctor who’s up-to-date on your medical history, health care goals, and concerns. The more your doctor knows about you, the better he or she can address your medical needs today, and respond to your health care challenges tomorrow. It’s about quality of care and peace of mind. And when you select a primary care physician, that’s what you’ll get.

UPMC St. Margaret’s board-certified primary care physicians have the expertise to handle most of your health care needs in the office and to coordinate referrals for specialty care and testing when necessary through UPMC’s vast network of clinical expertise and quality resources.

Other benefits to having a primary care physician include:

  • Knowledge of your lifestyle and family history
  • Non-emergency treatment for common medical conditions
  • Maintenance of health care records
  • Access to preventive care
  • Disease or condition screening
  • Vaccinations
  • Monitoring of blood pressure, blood sugar, and/or cholesterol
  • Referrals to specialists
