Dr. Volkar earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia and completed her residency at Abington Health in Abington, Pa. Dr. Volkar practiced for many years in Johnstown, Pa. before becoming a North American Menopause Society Certified Practitioner and transitioning to the Cleveland Clinic, where she was the lead gynecologist in the menopausal center. Along with her clinical credentials, she also holds an MBA in Healthcare Management and is the Quality officer for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital.

Dr. Imro earned her undergraduate degree from John Carroll University. After graduation, she performed research for several years at Vanderbilt University and the University of Pittsburgh. She went on to attend Hahnemann University in Philadelphia for medical school.
Dr. Imro completed her training in obstetrics and gynecology at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. She is a certified menopause practitioner and has a special interest in helping women in the early stages of menopause, as well as those experiencing sexual issues in the menopausal transition and beyond.
Dr. Picardo completed her undergraduate studies at Harvard College and earned her medical degree at Wake Forest University. She completed her training in obstetrics and gynecology at Oregon Health & Science University. After practicing in a community and hospital setting in Erie, PA, Dr. Picardo completed a two-year research fellowship in women’s health, while earning a master’s degree in epidemiology and completing an additional residency in preventive medicine and public health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She returned to Erie and practiced in the private setting for 14 years before joining the Magee-Womens Midlife Health Center. She treats patients at our Erie location.
Dr. Picardo is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Reproductive Sciences and a North American Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner. She uses her background in gynecology and preventive medicine to help patients develop a plan to improve their health and symptoms during their perimenopause and menopause years.
Dr. Pietragallo completed her undergraduate studies at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. After graduating, she worked in Georgetown’s International Initiatives for several years.
She earned her medical degree and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Penn State College of Medicine. She spent five years as a Penn State faculty member before joining the Midlife Health Center at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in 2020.
Dr. Pietragallo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at UPMC Magee. She is a member of the North American Menopause Society and in 2019 she earned certification as a National Certified Menopause Practitioner.
Dr. Scruggs earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia and completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital, now part of Virginia Commonwealth University. She was an obstetrics and gynecology general practitioner in Tennessee for 17 years prior to joining UPMC.
Dr. Scruggs has been a North American Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner since 2003, and is the Associate Director of the Midlife Health Center at Magee.
Stacey earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. After graduation, she enrolled in nursing school where she found her passion to be obstetrics and gynecology. While working as a labor and delivery nurse, she completed the RN-MSN Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program at Carlow University.
Through her experience as an RN and while practicing as a nurse practitioner, she felt that women’s health is not discussed as much as it should be, especially in midlife. She is trained in counseling and helping women both physically and emotionally who are going through the menopausal stages.
At the end of every patient visit, she strives for her patients to feel empowered and supported; she advocates for her patients through this stage of women’s health.
When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her English bulldog, Oscar. She loves running, weight training, and simply being outdoors.
