Our diverse team of medical geneticists and genetic counselors helps families understand genetic disease, provides information about risk factors, and explains and interprets genetic tests.
Clinical services at the Center for Medical Genetics and Genomics are seamlessly integrated with our laboratory testing sites at UPMC Cytogenetic Laboratory, UPMC Pregnancy Screening Laboratory, and UPMC Clinical Genomics Laboratory. We are a one-stop, patient-friendly facility, assuring accurate communication of testing results to referring physicians and patients.
As part of our educational mission, Center for Medical Genetics and Genomics clinicians are actively involved in medical genetics training of medical students, fellows, residents, and genetic counseling interns. We also instruct community physicians in aspects of medical genetics relevant to their educational and patient care needs.
