October 18, 2013 - Last night, October 17, hundreds of guests attended the UPMC Hamot annual dinner meeting at the Ambassador Center in Erie, Pa.
At the event, Desmond McDonald was announced as the new chairman of the UPMC Hamot Board of Directors.
The theme of the night was innovation. David Gibbons, UPMC Hamot chief operating officer, emceed the event. Highlights included continuing leadership in cardiac care, neurosurgical support, high-risk breast program, pulmonary imaging, specialty care, community outreach, regional collaborations, and trauma care.
Rasu Shrestha, MD, MBA, vice president of Medical Information Technology for UPMC, was the keynote speaker, followed by Jim Fiorenzo, UPMC Hamot president.
