The underlying medical conditions that lead to the need for an intestinal transplant and the complexity of transplantation surgery require a coordinated approach to care.

At the Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplantation Center, we collaborate with many ancillary services at UPMC to:

  • Ensure each patient receives a careful evaluation
  • Determine the best course of treatment for each individual
  • Provide these complex patients with medical and social support
