UPMC Senior Communities serves more than 2,900 older adults in our 17 senior residences in western Pennsylvania. We provide more than $4 million annually in uncompensated care and charitable relief to residents in need.
More than 50% of our frailest residents, those requiring skilled care, have depleted their personal assets and depend upon the benevolence of others. Gifts to our benevolent care fund support our ability to help eligible residents when they are least able to help themselves.
Likewise, some of our longtime residents in assisted personal care and independent living residences have depleted their personal assets and request subsidized care.
