2013 Aging Institute Research Day

About Research Day

The Aging Institute Research Day is an opportunity for researchers and clinicians from the University of Pittsburgh, UPMC, and Carnegie Mellon University to socialize, network, and view posters that showcase the latest in aging research.
The event will take place on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the University Club at the University of Pittsburgh.

Awards

Awards will be presented for the best posters in these categories:
  • Junior faculty
  • Candidates for clinical or research doctorates
  • Post-doc (those who have completed a clinical or research doctorate and are still in training)
  • Clinical practitioners doing quality or practice improvement (clinicians, administrators, etc.)

Poster Abstract Submissions

A poster session is a graphic presentation of authors' reports.

The authors illustrate his or her findings by displaying graphs, photos, diagrams and a small amount of text on the poster boards. The authors will then hold discussions with the registrants who are circulating among the poster boards.

Many authors find it helpful to present a brief introduction to answer the obvious questions and allow the remainder of the time for more in-depth discussions.
The author must remain by his or her poster board for the duration of the session.

If the author has handouts to distribute, he or she should bring approximately 75 copies that highlight the authors’ names and contact information.

No audiovisual equipment is permitted for poster presentations.
