Geriatric Services

UPMC geriatric services are staffed by skilled geriatricians, geriatric psychiatrists, and health professionals experienced in Alzheimer's disease research, depression, and incontinence.

UPMC programs for older adults include:

  • Inpatient acute services
  • Geriatric assessment and treatment centers
  • In-home health care and support services
  • Health education and outreach services
  • Primary care programs at senior centers

UPMC Senior Care — Benedum Center

Among the foremost providers of these services is UPMC Senior Care Benedum Geriatric Center. Through Benedum Geriatric Center clinics at Canterbury Place, residents receive the professional services of board-certified geriatricians.

The outpatient center provides:

  • Comprehensive geriatric assessment
  • Medical and psychiatric evaluation
  • Primary and specialty care
  • Dental, eye, audiology, podiatry, and psychiatry services
  • Health care education, counseling, and psychotherapy for patients and families
