Screening Mammograms to be Offered on Women’s Health Day

UPMC Cancer Centers and the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute to host women’s health event Saturday, May 31

PITTSBURGH , May 16, 2008 — In recognition of Women’s Health Day, UPMC Cancer Centers and the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI) will host a women’s health event between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Saturday, May 31, at the Hillman Cancer Center, UPMC Shadyside, 5115 Centre Ave.

Screening mammograms will be offered to women ages 40 and above. Individuals without insurance are encouraged to attend. Nurse educators will be on hand to answer women’s health questions, provide information on breast health and teach women how to examine their own breasts. Light refreshments and door prizes will be available. 

This event is open to the public. Free child care services and parking will be offered. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO SCHEDULE A MAMMOGRAM. To register, or for more information, please call 412-623-5900.
