UPMC Pediatric Care offers complete healthcare services for children and adolescents from birth to 21 years of age.
It is important to promote good health to developing children. During well-child visits, we will discuss important issues for your child and your family. We can answer questions you have about topics including:
We provide immunizations, or shots, your children need to prevent serious illnesses such as whooping cough, measles and hepatitis. If your child received immunizations somewhere else, please bring a record of those shots with you to your appointment.
Walk-in appointments are available for sick children or for issues that cannot wait. We will try to get your child seen as soon as possible. Walk-in appointments are available during our regular office hours.
At some of our offices, extended hours are also available for appointments after our regular office hours.
Each child and family are assigned a doctor or advanced practice professional. Whenever possible, the same health care professional will see your child for scheduled and sick visits. However, if your doctor or advanced practice professional is unavailable, another member of the team will see your child.
If you need advice, you can call your child's doctor's office at any time of the day or night, any day of the week, and you will be connected to nurse triage if after hours.
In partnership with UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, the Emergency Departments (EDs) at UPMC in North Central Pa. provide top-quality care to pediatric patients in their EDs at UPMC Cole, UPMC Outpatient Emergency Department in Lock Haven, UPMC Muncy, UPMC Wellsboro, and UPMC Williamsport. UPMC Children's board-certified pediatric emergency specialists are on call 24/7 to collaborate in real time with our emergency doctors and families. And if your child needs follow-up care, we will make the appointment for you before you even leave our ED.
In partnership with UPMC Children’s, we work as a team to provide complete care for our youngest patients.
Thanks to our highly trained children's health experts providing care close to home, some procedures can now be performed right at UPMC Williamsport, if surgical intervention is required.
UPMC Children’s provides comprehensive care to infants, children, adolescents and young adults with surgical needs. We are leaders in minimally invasive surgery techniques, which means less pain and quicker recoveries for our young patients. Services include diagnosis, consultation, management, and follow-up care administered by a highly experienced team.
Any general and thoracic pediatric surgery consult can be seen in Williamsport. If surgical intervention is required, it can be performed at UPMC Williamsport, UPMC Children's in Harrisburg, or UPMC Children's in Pittsburgh, depending on the age of the patient and complexity of the diagnosis. UPMC Pediatrics in North Central Pa. utilizes the expertise of our partners at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh to read neonatal/pediatric head ultrasounds and non-accidental skeletal surveys. A process that previously included sending these studies out externally, the team can now tap into our UPMC Children's experts in Pittsburgh.
